TOPIC: R5 - Coriolis: the Third Horizon

Story so far…

After fighting their way to the bowels of Coriolis in search of their Emissary (also Noor) the group follow the last batch of kidnap victims down in a drop pod.

Landing At Verkana Ridge deep in the Kuan jungle with zero jungle knowledge or supplies they find abandoned pods and some full ones. They rescue a survivor and find a message to an “Akbar Artyr” from an “S” saying they are shutting shop and to destroy any records he wasn’t supposed to make before smugglers turn up. Hiding from them before successfully(?) trailing them back To Baybasin. A run down mining and plantation town ran by The Birbasil Family. One of the major families in the syndicate.

They arrive at an auspicious time with tensions brewing between the oppressed slave population (supported by the Shaukar Guerillas) and the Birbasil family. Questioning (and the support of an old friend of Mata’s, identifies “Akbar Artyr” as Artyr Gholam, a logal slave dealer known to smuggle items as the most likely destination of the pods and both sides of the conflict have their own sales pitch for the crews services as the wildcard both hope can top the scales in their favour. Both offering access to Artyr in different ways.

Our group decide to let morality guide them and side with the rebels, having given a good impression after a fight with a legendary Azaelean while definitely not lost in the Jungle. Their first act is to sneak into the “exo squad”, converted cargo haulers, barracks and drain all their batteries In such a way as to not leave a trace. Removing them frm the equation without firing a shot.

While the Good captain Stays back to help coordinate and Flash stays back to… make the coffee, Rana, Mata and Brandon move forward as the uprising commences. Brandon basically IS the front line and through sheer wallness, Tech savvy or hacking the comms they take the local militia completely by surprise. Fighting all the way to the Birbasil mansion in the name of the Shaukar Guerillas and turning the town over to them.

In the confusion Artyr has escaped but too fast to fully wipe his datafiles to the point Rana can’t recover some of it. She finds an invoice for what looks like a group of slavers to be delivered to a Niobe Hassam in Little Algol, a flooded sector of the Conglomerate. There’s a deliver address of Pier pier 58. In gratitude for their support The Guerillas arrange transport via Barge for the Crew tot he system. Now, after several days sailing, their barge is approaching Pier 58...

We made our way through the outskirts a few hours ago and
are nearing proper civilization. Traffic in the delta has been
more intense around the trading hubs further up, and is now
slowing down and evening out – a steady stream of fishing
boats, river peddlers, and barges are now accompanying us
down the Ramishah toward our shared destination.

At first only a small dot on the horizon, it now towers, a mighty
pylon pointing to the heavens – the Monolith. Space – and
aircraft of all imaginable makes and models swarm around
it like bees around a hive. As the shadow of the colossus falls
over us, the river narrows and the surrounding wilderness
gives way to human settlement. A mixture of smells – cooking,
spices, sewage, incense, soap, cremation – greet us, carried
on the evening breeze.

We have arrived in the shantytowns that surround the
Spear of the Icons, the bustling microcosm known as the
Conglomerate.

I'm still not right. anti-biotics didn't fully clear it and it's come back and apparently you aren't allowed to see your GP anymore ('m waiting for them to respond to my form after their initial response was "take some anti-histemines").

I'm still prepping as if we'll run Thursday but can't guarantee it right now.

Good job at sticking to it, I need to sit down and read through

really sorry don't think tomorrows going to happen. I've still not seen a doctor and still rough. Even if a miracle happened and they gave me something that helped clear it up before tomorrow night I'm that tired I'd not last without a good nights sleep first.

Hopefully we go again next week and someone can step in this.
