Were hired by the
Colonial Agency(CA) to travel on the Ghazali (a converted scrapped luxory liner to help with a rescue/relief mission following the receipt of a distress message (below) from the
Tsurabi Gas mine located in the clouds of the Gas Giant
Taoan in the system of the same name. You are being accompanied by the Legion destroyer
Zafirah as an escort since no one knows exactly what the situation is.
”Alarm code 1A, alarm co… ...requesting immediate assistance...
...unknown signature, reminiscent of Tacharuk’s
lesions but definitely atypical… … evacuation has commenced,
supplementary stasis, we have to… ...sensor artifact in sector
4, declination 4–2–1… … almost a perfect black… … vessel…

Having docked their ship to the Ghazali they joined the majority of the other relief crew in Stasis as they travelled from Coriolis to Taoan via the
Hammurabi system. However they are woken early with a start only to find the ship heavily damaged and the majority of the other crew killed where they slept by intense radiation.
Exploring the ship they first come across a console to allow them to speak to the ships less than fully cognizant AI Suleiman who informs them the Ship is on a direct course for the Hammurabi Sun but also guides them to the med bay where other survivors are gathering. These include:
Komoro Vai – A minor noble ship captain who has placed himself in charge.
Brother Ramas – A Samaritan Preacher who is helping to heal the sick. He particularly despises…
Khomina – A woman claiming the Icons have spoken to her via the emissaries telling her and the rest to accept their fate and wait for the ship to burn up in the sun.
Sabetha Pour – A smuggler who offers the crew a deal they don’t get chance to refuse
The group head out to the ship bridge to find out what they can (and to collect their weapons which are stored there in the weapons locker). There they find out a bit more of what has happened. It appears the portal from Hammurabi to the Taoan system exploded (an event that has not happened since the portal wars) while the Zafirah was transiting. A garbled message was received from a drone launched by the Zafirah even as it perished:
”Warning! Anomaly on entry – unidentified sensor object. Hull
breach in section 12. Thrusters are offline. Stasis chamber is
offline. Unstable field pattern. Decompression in sections 3, 6,
8, 19. Reactor spike. Activating emergency protocols – firing
aft probes…”
The crew also gather the
Emerald Disc. The ships “Black box” knowing there will be a reward from the CA for it’s return. The disc is thoroughly encrypted though not allowing them access without the right tools/cyphers
The crew repeatedly butt heads with Komoro Vai in a battle for supremacy with Brother Ramas playing peacemaker due to the groups sheer lack of diplomacy and tacked. This includes when the group openly discuss the offer from Sabetha which would mean leaving some of the survivors behind to die. The resulting near riot causes Sabetha to withdraw into the shadows thinking the group is far too loud for what is supposed to be a secret deal.
After a tense truce the group work to repair their own ship and rescue other survivors while surviving attacks from escaped legion Nekatras until Suleiman informs them in his typically vague way that the ships reactor is about to go critical and they’ll be dead long before they hit the sun.
Rushing off the ship and using several of the stasis pod filled cargo pods to get the rest of the survivors they launch in the Ali (grabbing some other survivors from a chapel on the way) and get away just in time as the Ghazali meets it’s final fate (downloading what they hope is a backup of the ships AI Suleiman). Searching for, and finding via transponder, the two pods they are set upon by Vai and Sabetha piloting a second ship that they had convinced the group was non-operational. It is clear Sabetha had approached Vai who intended to take out the Crew (and the surivors on their ship) to ensure no one knew about his clandestine deal. Fortunately the Ali is more gun than ship and the group were able to defeat Vai, taking his head off with an accelerator while he was still in his captains chair.
After the confrontation and in a moments rest during transit

Nasir both receive a similar vision
Making their way to the Hammurabi portal station the sheer number of survivors overwhelms the small station and infirmary. Interviewed by the local bulletin agent for a print piece (much to Flashiz’s chagrin) they are asked to stay while the incident is investigated approached by the local Colonial Agent
Yasintra Hur to hunt down the source of a leak to local corsairs who keep raiding shipments to the other settlements in the system. The group eventually track down that Emira, the dancer at the cantina, is non other than Samira, the captain of the corsairs in disguise and the leak is Yasintra herself through pillow talk! Bringing this information to Yasintra she convinces the group to keep her part in this secret in return for Yasintras patronage once the successful resolution of this problem leads her to an overdue promotion back to Coriolis.
Posing as traders the group, after several encounters (including rescuing an ACTUAL distress call), they finally find corsairs luring in victims with their own fake distress calls and take them out enough to back track them to their base. Raiding the base in an extremely quick and dirty “the rotation is about to end” kind of way the group take out the corsairs and Samina earning a reward as well as Yasintras gratitude…
Yasintra Hur is now your group Patron and provides you with steady work over the next few months…
Unfortunately the events, and the accelleration of his mystics disease plus the vision he received Unnerves Nasir to the point he decides to leave the crew leaving them without a competent mechanic (Marcs not able to rejoin us).
We pick up on your triumphant return to Coriolis.
