TOPIC: Twilight 2000: You are on your own now

06/22/00 – Thursday evening

What the fuck is with this mother fucking Humvee? I’m writing this while Doc changes the fucking exploding tyre. We looted the bodies of the Commies but I insisted we drive on at least a little. I managed to get some sleep on the road at least but then the fucking tyre went.

Once it’s done we’ll probably move on a few more miles, get some distance between us and the contact, before bedding down for the night. It might be June but turns out letting off fucking Armageddon might change the weather a bit so we might have to risk a fire.

06/23/00 – Friday

I kept watch again last night. Another clear night thankfully. First light we got moving south toward the bridge once more while I kipped in the car. However once we got there we could quickly see the bridge was no more. Plan B then. We head east towards the bridge near Kolo.

Apparently we’re a democracy now so the group voted to head there via Konin in the hope we might be able to restock from the ruins or similar. However it was quickly apparent Konin was no more than a stinking radioactive crater. Plan C then. Head back north to the road.

Few hours further down the road we could see what looked like a makeshift roadblock. Clay stayed back manning the M2 while Mr Smith stayed behind the wheel (Brook is still barred) and covered me, Doc and Brook as we hoofed it around via the woods. Doc led the way and thankfully spotted the mines before we found them the hard way. He cleared us a path quietly enough and I covered Brook while he moved forward. He found two things. 1. that the roadblock wasn’t manned anymore 2. that it was still mined when he found one with his foot. Luckily Doc is a miracle worker and managed to disarm it.

We got a decent haul from the surrounding cars before heading on the road again. On the way one of the overhead signs a few miles short of the bridge had been sprayed saying in Polish “Pay the troll to cross the bridge”. Hey at least that means there’s STILL a bridge to cross…

Approaching the bridge it seemed mostly intact but the area was covered in kids of all ages (several of whom didn’t seem to keen to be there). As we pulled up I got out and approached as an older man looking shady as fuck walked up to the other side. He was holding the cartoon version of a detonator but we couldn’t risk it. The greedy fucker wanted 20 food and 20 gas. More than we have even if we could spare it. Fucker wouldn’t negotiate so we decided to “leave”. We’ve fallen back a few miles to hunt and rest up while the plan is a few of us will sneak up tonight and see what we can see and whether we can do anything about those bombs he claimed were there. The huntings gone well so we’ve at least got the Trolls “toll” if it comes to that.

Going to get my head down before we head out.

On a slightly shitter note, will have to miss tonight as I am moving house on Friday and have been strongly urged that there isn’t time for fun and we must go through every bloody box to double check. So apologies for that. Hopefully mr smith hasn’t crashed yet.

My wife picked up the sickness bug yesterday and hasn't had a good night, and is feeling very poorly in bed. I need to therefore to stay home and look after things. I had the bug earlier this year and it knocked me off my feet for a few days

I really hope this early message will give enough time for you to be able to arrange to play something else

So still 4 assuming all still coming? Anyone got anything they could run? I don't currently I don't think. Maybe some fallout at a stretch as I don't htink any of you played when I ran it recently? But I've got visitors over this evening before the club so won't have much time therefore if someone else can run something would be much appreciated.
