Rotation number: Rotation 3 2018
Referee name: Inept
Game system: Shadowrun II (with a twist)
Scenario Name: Heresy
Character Levels: starting
New Characters: Yes
No. of players: 4

The year is 2054
The promise of opportunity and anonymity brings you to the free city of Berlin. The flux state, a grand experiment in social order. Corporations tread carefully here, even the great dragon Lofwyr only has so much sway and exercises caution. Because here, in Berlin, is the only place in the world where the constantly evolving power structure allow anyone, ANYONE, to succeed. What better place for aspiring shadowrunners to ply their trade.

Berlin offers a chance to be someone… and it just so happens that an old contact Monika Schaeffer makes contact. She needs some out of town help with a little problem and she’s happy to pay! She gets you a ticket to the Cologne metroplex, then a slow boat to Berlin travelling the Rhine transport freight network. If you didn’t know better you’d swear this was a lower profile than normal

You arrive at Berlin docks Spandau, and wait as intructed. Cargo is offloaded, and the crew departs leaving you in your cabin. A brief message appears on your PDA. <disembark now, these runners will join you at the dock> images of 3 other people you vaguely remember from the boat trip, flash onto the screen, along with another, a female large troll called Eiger, who is your contact.

Exiting the boat onto the dockside, the troll is waiting.

She gestures quickly to a van parked by the quayside.

“In den Van steigen Monika wartet” her tone is brisque, almost like she objects to you in some way.

The journey is quiet. The group before appears calm and relaxed, you have time to study your fellow runners….

The internal comm goes. Monika’s voice appears over the van’s comm system.

“Welcome to the Berlin Free State, we should meet very soon at Harfeld Manor. I need you to join me on a run now. Our time frame has moved up, and the principle is getting nervous. Eiger will get you here and be our backup. The van has some equipment if you need it. See you in 5.”

Looking around, you see a number of weapons. The van pulls up, and the troll gestures for you to leave. This is just getting better and better…

Rule changes:
I intend to use the dice system from Warhammer modified to fit the shadowrun II basic game profile.
basic changes will mean challenge dice will be as follows:
routine task - 0 challenge dice
easy task - 1 challenge dice
moderate task - 2 challenge dice
hard task - 3 challenge dice
Extreme task - 4 challenge dice

No starting skill can be above the primary stat to which it relates, i.e unarmed/armed combat is strength based and the stat cannot be above that.
specialisms in particular skills give a bonus yellow dice
concentrations in skills gain a bonus white dice.

situational modifiers will gain black or white dice at the DM's discretion.

Opposed skill checks will be determined on the basis of your skill level relative to the opposed skill check.

your skill is double the opposed check - 1 challenge dice
you skill is equal or greater than the opposed check - 2 challenge dice
you skill is less than the opposed check - 3 challenge dice
your skill is half the opposed check - 4 challenge dice.

Multiple actions (after the first) in a round gain one extra black dice per extra action on top of everything else. (some cyberware or magic may negate these effects).
Red Wine should always be opened and allowed to breathe....

if it doesn't apply mouth to bottle resuscitation.

Count me in please.

Probably a Mage of some sort. Any changes to the character generation process or is it standard 2nd edition?

Are you allowing all the expansion books for 2nd edition?

Unfortunately Shadowrun is not for me, however...

You may want to consider looking into the new Genesys RPG by Fantasy Flight Games, which is a stand alone version of the narrative dice system as used in Warhammer 3rd. This RPG is a multi-genre version of the system, so its not based on any background world

I have the book so let me know if you want to take a look and I'll bring Thursday
