This is effectively pulp sci-fi/Flash Gordon with the serial numbers filed off, right?

I think Andy C was running this plot point. I dimly recall there being space mummies and an atomic bazooka, which was awesome.

Can I plz be Gertrude Silver, an actual WW2 pilot, who disappeared without trace on 26/10/1944. Yes, I have been on Wikipedia! Chances are she crashed into the sea, or a mountain, or something - but I am going to suggest she maybe flew into a portal (goddamn Nazis and their weird science) and ended up in the Slipstream, in a fighter plane that immediately crashed. Now she is trying to repair/modify her plane for space flight, so she can make her way home to her husband Henry and give that Hitler fellow the spanking he deserves! She will not be a fan of Queen Anathraxia's fascist dictatorship.

Gertrude will fufill party roles of pilot and mechanic.

Perhaps the infamous German pilot Franz von Werra (of the Luftwaffe) was also sucked through the portal, but has now ended up working as a Wild Card henchman for the bad guys? History says he also crashed/disappeared without trace in 1941.
