I'll add more details when time permits, but that is a start. I'm thinking he might run martial arts classes to earn a little extra cash and one of his students might be the person:

Laverne Smeltzer, daughter of German immigrants, wannabe-actress, trainee martial artist, shorthand-typist, lover of the exotic and on-off squeeze of Akio Himura.

My first:

Jean Rousseau Age 40
Residence: 204 Bushwick Ave #4, Brooklyn, New York.
Place of Work: Rousseau's (Art Gallery), West 46th Street
Mode of Transport: 1923 Citroen 5CV Type C2 (see pic of Rousseau in his car)
Tools of the Trade: Eye Loupe; Umbrella.

From Grenoble in the French Alps, Jean spent the earlier years of his working life as a first class steward for White Star Line, serving mainly on the Liverpool - Queenstown (ROI) New York route. During this time, Jean fell in love with New York, and bought a modest apartment in Brooklyn. Jean's art passion allowed him leave White Star early in 1923. Jean had made a decent business whilst still working as a steward out of importing European art and selling at inflated prices to the Americans. He bought a small gallery on West 46th Street and continues to this day importing, buying and selling art.

So far we have:

Akio Himura: Japanese Secret Agent/Spy (Mel)
Lancelot Rutherford-Hill: Former Colonel-Commandant (Hugh)
Dr Carnaby Wright: Archaeologist (Stew)
Jean Rousseau: Purveyor of Fine Art (Steve)

That's quite a mix of professions and nationalities.

A few questions:

How do you all know each other?
Why would you investigate matters of the occult and paranormal?
How are your second characters related to the first?
How collectively are available funds being determined?
Are there any pre-exsting insanities that need to be accounted for?

Inept: Still no characters from you yet mate. Can you please post up as soon as possible.
