A very very brief intro to the setting. Based on Sarge's crazed machinations :)

The Setup
In the heart of the Stellarum Nexus lies the Valarium system, a shining beacon of unity and progress in a galaxy still recovering from the scars of war. At the system's core is the terraformed marvel of Celestia, a planet of striking diversity. From its floating islands to its crystalline mountains, Celestia is a testament to the wonders of advanced terraforming technology. Above it looms the mining moon of Echo, forever gazing upon the planet's bustling activities, its surface pocked with mining operations extracting precious resources for the Interstellar Alliance.
Nebula Core, the capital city of the Interstellar Alliance, sits like a jewel upon Celestia. It is a city of immense scale and grandeur, home to 10 billion inhabitants. The vibrant plazas are always alive with activity, where citizens from countless worlds and races mingle, trade, and share stories. The architecture is a blend of sleek, futuristic designs and the elegant, ancient styles of the many races that call the Alliance home. Towering skyscrapers with crystalline spires pierce the sky, their surfaces reflecting the light in a dazzling array of colors. Floating gardens and terraces filled with exotic flora provide serene escapes from the city's hustle and bustle, while vast marketplaces offer goods from across the galaxy.

Eight other systems share the protection and prosperity of the Interstellar Alliance, known collectively as the Core Systems: Lybrathis, Ragnar, K'alar, Keraphinia, Sengar, Seraphic, Denaxia, and Zeranti. Each system, with its own unique characteristics and cultures, contributes to the rich tapestry of the Alliance.
This era of relative peace is a hard-won prize, for the galaxy once echoed with the thunder of the Sodalis War. Before the war, the galaxy was a fragmented realm of warring factions, with humans and other races vying for dominance. The discovery of a powerful relic on Ravenax ignited the conflict. The Notexian Dominion and the Gorgonix Hegemony clashed with the Verdelusian Coalition and the Ravenax Scholars in a brutal, galaxy-spanning war. It was only with the decisive intervention of the Lybrathis Syndicate that the tides turned, forcing the Dominion and Hegemony to the peace table. The Nexus Accord ended the war and gave birth to the Interstellar Alliance. Though tensions remain, the overarching desire for peace prevails. Yet, the hunt for more Aetherian artifacts, remnants of an ancient and powerful precursor race, continues, promising both opportunity and danger.

Within this complex and vivid backdrop, you find yourselves—an eclectic group of privateer adventurers, navigating the treacherous currents of interstellar life. Taking on whatever jobs come your way, you strive to remain on the right side of the law while carving out your own destinies. Your group has seen many come and go, each departure a reminder of the volatile nature of your existence.
