I host the picture on postimages.org, copy the direct link and insert it into the message box by clicking the icon that looks like a picture with a chain link (directly under the B[old] I[talics] U[underlined] bar).

You can click the next icon (globe with chain link) and copy+paste direct web link to image, but that is less reliable than hosting the image yourself.
