Solomon Kane
System: Savage Worlds
Ref: Garuda
Character Levels: Novice
Number of Players: 3-5

Our Company of Adventurers: Tony, Steve, Adam, Bane, Matt.

***TABLE FULL**

The Savage World of Solomon Kane. Gothic horror in the seventeenth century. Fight supernatural forces with sharp wits, swash-buckling derring-do, black powder firearms and perhaps magic too. Although if you choose an arcane background, ensure you practice the arts in such a way that doesn't attract unwanted attention - or you'll be burned at the stake for being a witch.

I don't expect folk will have the book - so character creation will be on the first night.

Folks. Please see PM I've sent you.
Edit: Bah! Sending the PM has reformatted the links. You'll have to copy and paste them into your address bar instead of clicking on them.

Background
It is the year 1610 and James I reigns over a turbulent England. You'll begin in the west country, probably in Devon.

A couple of house rules spring to mind:-

A D4 explodes only once.
Two reasons for this, (I) I once had a character die because a rat bit him for 36 points of damage thanks to a d4 exploding multiple times in a row. It seemed a bit silly; (ii) because a d4 is more likely to explode than any other die, folk sometimes don't see much reason to improve skills unless they have particular intent to raise them high.

No XP for hoarding bennies
This rule is particular to the Solomon Kane setting. In a previous run I found folk were hoarding bennies in order to advance their characters quicker. It meant they weren't using bennies when prudent and characters were advancing too quickly for the pace of the campaign.

Guts skill
Don't bother taking the Guts skill. For Fear tests I'll call for Spirit rolls instead.

Exotic Weapons
I'm not inclined to allow exotic weapons at character creation. These weapons from exotic far away lands would be super rare in England - if they could be found at all.
