TOPIC: Odyssey of the Dragonlords

Encounter at Sea
On the second day out from the Island of the Fates the Ultros sails into a huge wave that lifts the ship high on the peak, before the ship then plunges uncontrollably down the cascading trough. Beneath the ship a huge shadow moves, and with its passing the sea calms again.

Scorpion Island
The island is flat and green. Plentiful sandy beaches make running the Ultros ashore an easy task. This island is famous for its centaurs and its scorpions of all sizes. At the island’s centre is a high black tower, the fortress of the Lotus Queen.

Monks and Scorpions
The party comes across a pair of senor monks from Aresia. They have escorted several young monks here to undergo their rite of passage to adulthood by hunting giant scorpions. Soon enough the party comes across such a group of adolescent monks – but instead of a single scorpion, they are engaged in battle with three of the giant beasts. It proves too much for them. The heroes end up fighting the scorpions themselves. During the fight, Ezrael’s hat is removed from his head and ends up on the barbed stinger of one scorpion who had just narrowly missed Ezrael’s head with its strike.

A Field of Flowers
The imposing tower at the island’s heart is surrounded by meadows of beautiful yellow flowers. As they cross the meadows the heroes watch as the sun zooms across the sky – rising in the west and setting in the east multiple times as the sky quickly phases repeatedly through day and night cycles.

The Tower
Inside the tower are dozens of children – none of them look older than seven or eight years of age, many are just toddlers. Heaps of discarded adult clothing lie against the walls. One child, Leander, approaches the heroes; he looks about five years of age but claims to be centuries old. He advises the heroes to beg forgiveness from the Lotus Witch for trespassing here. She resides at the very top of the tower.

Many Steps and Many Windows
The climb up the circular steps to the tower’s top is exhausting. Windows are passed now and again through which the heroes glimpse many unexpected vistas. None of the windows look out over Scorpion Island but instead to other unknown places. Finally, at the top of the tower is a single room.

The Lotus Witch
The witch looks like a large winged lioness with a human face. She displays little emotion. She is almost amused by the heroes’ daring to seek her audience. Are they men or are they children she wonders. Maybe if they can answer her riddles she won’t be forced to treat them as infants. The heroes impress her with their answers – maybe they are worthy of knowledge after all.

The Witch’s Words
She tells Ezrael that the magic that sustains his curse originates on Typhon Island. Only by going there and diving into its volcanic heart can the Cursed One learn how to end their suffering. The Lotus Witch gifts Ezrael a magic gem (does not count against attunement limits). The gem will protect Ezrael during his trial. Undertaking the trial without it would result in instant fiery death.

Of the missing dragons of the Dragonlords, she tells you that they may yet reveal themselves when the Oath of Peace has ended.

Wifey has covid. At the moment I'm getting home at 6.0pm and then having to clean house, cook teas for everyone, wash up, sort wifey, get kids ready for bed, sort lunch boxes and uniforms blah, blah, blah etcetera etcetera woe is me and all that - and its after 9.0pm when I get to stop and sit down.

And besides that - although I've tested negative and feel okay - I wouldn't want to inadvertently spread the plague around the club.

Well I'm reading curse of strahd so I could do a one shot tonight

Cursed No More
While sailing between islands, Bidderus finally manages to cast out the spirit of Estor Arkelander and relive Ezrael from its possession. Though no longer malignant, Ezrael decides to keep his dashing captain's hat - though it could probably benefit from having the holes repaired from wayward arrows and scorpion stingers.

The Island of the Golden Heart
The Golden Heart is a near paradise island, full of verdant flora and abundant with diverse wildlife. Darden follows a trail that leads to an astonishing creature - a large golden ram. The creature disappears and its tracks lead to a hillock upon which grows enormous ancient oak.

The Oak
This island, and this oak tree, are said to be the beginnings of life in Thylea. This oak is synonymous with the goddess Thylea herself. Each person who touches the tree is left with a feeling of empowerment and well-being. The tree is healing and knowledge.

Hexia
Castor was told by his father, Pythor, that a green dragon named Hexia had stolen away his mother, Ophea. Castor instinctively knows from touching the oak tree that the lair of Hexia is to be found on the Island of the Dragon in the Forgotten Sea.

Pegasus
The heroes retreat from the giant oak and come across a haphazard orchard. Golden apples hang from the branches of the orchard trees. The heroes take a few. Soon, through the thick trees a brilliant white horse with wings is seen drinking at a pool. Ryu wins the beast’s trust and gets a ride through the sky as a reward (and possibly a burgeoning friendship). The pegasus is unlikely to travel far from the island though, as it lives on the golden apples that grow only here.

Golden Lions
On the way back to the shoreline to re-board the Ultros the heroes are attacked by a pair of large golden lions. The fight is fierce but eventually the glorious beats are driven away.

The heroes are resolved to rescue Ophea from the Island of the Dragon... ...
