SESSION THREE - PART ONE

Down to the caverns of mist and vapours
Can you hear someone screaming?
A stunningly beautiful woman and an ugly minging wench; but which is witch?
A fight to the death with the ugly old minger
A precious pearl and a missive from Sydon
The prophecy of the Oracle

PRIVATE DIVINATIONS FOR YOU ALL

Welcome nephew, grand-sire of Sydon;
Your sorceress grandmother was murdered by your grandfather, Sydon,
but her daughter, your mother, survived – though she was cursed
Her curse resulted in her son being born minotaur and named Duane (a double-whammy)
May I present you with this golden locket; it belonged to your grandmother.

Halia, foretold to break the power of death, Lutheria’s agents hunted you
The goddess Mystra erased your existence from all memory to hide you from Lutheria;
You were brought to the city of Mystra to be hidden and protected (in a slightly ill-conceived manner by human agents)
Your parents’ souls reside in the scythe of Lutheria,
Seek out Demetria, Versi’s corrupted city, at the Mossy Temple

Castor, child of Pythor, great things are expected of you,
Go to Estoria and reconcile yourself with your father;
Pythor; God of War, King of Estoria and all-round womanising drunken slob
What could possible go wrong?

Welcome Roht, or should I address you by your true name – Ezrael?
You are no mortal of Thylea; fallen from the heavens and deprived of your wings;
Prove your worth, be a hero, regain your wings and ascend to your birthright.
Seek out Damon, the guardian of the Necropolis at Telamok.
Oh, by the way, word to the wise - Damon is a terrifying ancient lich – so don’t upset him.

Bidderus of the Dagger Clan, enemy of Lutheria,
Lutheria was deprived of your sacrifice as a child,
Hidden in the wilderness and raised as the ward of an old clan chieftain named Derek
Speak to Demetria at the Mossy Temple; if Lutheria’s undead legions don’t slaughter you first
"Gentlemen, we're in the stickiest situation since Sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun" - Capt. E. Blackadder.

SESSION THREE – PART TWO

THE THREE GREAT LABOURS

You must complete three great tasks:
Claim the Weapons of the Dragonlords
Light the Fires of the Mithral Forge
Drink from the Horn of Balmytria

Proteus offers his sage advice: the tasks are impossible, suicidal even, Thylea is doomed.

Forged by the god Volkan, the weapons of the Dragonlords were capable of wounding the Titans. The weapons now reside at the Necropolis - the tombs of the Dragonlords themselves. The Necropolis has stood for five hundred years but nobody goes there as it is guarded by Damon, a gatekeeper so terrible that all fear to tread on any path that would lead them to that foreboding place. And on that note – Proteus gifts you a rare burnished gold coin to pay Damon, for your admittance (hopefully), without it your dead meat.

The Mithral Forge was used to construct the weapons of the gods for the First War. The forge can make powerful weapons and even make or repair magical items. There is a clan of dwarves who operate the copper mines near Estoria. They frequent the Dragon’s Tooth pub in the city. Their guidance can lead you to the location of the Mithral Forge.

The Horn of Balmytria, is a dragon’s horn. It was blessed by the gods and has the power to grant those that drink from it wondrous visions. The last Proteus knew of it, the Horn of Balmytria was kept at the reliquary in the city of Estoria.

The poet Kyrah appears (out of nowhere), she wishes you well and talks of fame and heroism,
You each speak an Oath of Fellowship to bind you all together.

THE CITY OF ESTORIA

Meeting travellers, merchants and farmers on the road to the city, you hear tales of woe, drought in the fields and a shortage of livestock (thanks to the Order of Sydon taking everyone’s cattle to be sacrificed to Sydon). Listening to them moan you understand a universal truth - that some folk are never happy unless they’re miserable.

In the city, a preacher mocks the minotaur and you meet some of the Lord king’s guards
A summons to the palace
Pythor, the drunken king is in a pickle
The Order of Sydon demands the sacrifice of his daughter, Princess Anora at the next full moon
There’s no hope to save her, and there’s no other child of Pythor to volunteer in her place
Castor decides today might not be the most prudent time to reveal himself to his estranged father.
Well, next full moon is a week away, so what shall we do to pass the time?
