It’s been 4 long months since the start of this zombie outbreak. We made it to the safe zone at Birmingham Airport and have been all dealing with the harsh reality that humanity is on the brink of extinction. Food and water are starting to run short and all looks bleak for us.
That’s when the commander of our safe zone calls us into his tent/office thing. He tells us that even with rationing our food supplies won’t last long and that he is sending teams out to scour for food and he wants us to help. He gives us firearms, a pistol and a one-shot rifle, and barely any ammo for them.
And so we set out north, while we walk we talk about where we could go to find food when Mark says that there is a food distribution depot in Ham’s Hall where there should be food to last us for a very long time. We all agree to this plan and start making our way towards it. Along the way we attempt to sneak past some zombies but Doug has the stealth of a Knight with plate metal on and is attacked by zombies but they are quickly dispatched with no trouble.
We walk for a while without incident and get to a bridge where we see a few zombie shambling ahead, they have not seen us so we decide to practise with our new guns. I kill 3 quite easily and the rest eventually go down. And that’s when the S**t hits the fan as a Horde of a few hundred zombies descends upon us from all sides, they were even climbing up the bridge from the river! We realise quickly that we will not survive unless we can get a vehicle to work, so with Andy sets to work on a pick-up truck, while he’s eating a pot noodle. The rest of us set to work about defending him.
Myself and Mark starting hacking and slashing and start calling out how many we can kill at once. Doug and Mike take pots shots at the zombies with mike getting a great hit and blowing up another car killing loads of zombies in one go. Andy finally gets the car working and after a small mishap with the engine we get out of the area leaving a trail of dead zombies under the tyres of the Pick-up truck.
We finally reach the depot with no more trouble and find what we were looking for. A massive stash of food and water and supplies that will last us for a very long time. We discuss for a while about how to get the food back to the airport before agreeing that we can take as much as we can carry and then get the helicopters to come and secure the area. Our trip back was less eventful than our trip there but we made it back no problem.
After some rest a man approaches us and informs us the only reason we are sent out is because we are expendable. I am oddly ok with this, how the others are with it I do not know.
