Seeing if any interest for savage worlds system set in the star trek universe. Original campaign set in the year 2378 (next gen era). It will be my first time being a GM so I have opted for 4 players however if there is interest I am willing to push for 5. Being my first time GMing I am bound to mess up and probably catch denobian space virus along the way but if you set your phasers to fun I'm sure there won't be too many teleporter malfunctions.

I have been reading the wiki page for Star Trek and have three character suggestions. With the GM's permission, I will flesh them out create racial templates using the rules from the core book and then pick one to play.

EDIT: I am leaning towards #3, the Nuvian spy/saboteur.

1: Mugato warrior
"An indigenous simian-like beast, carnivorous, with characteristically white fur, a rhino-like horn on the top of its head, and sharp and extremely venomous fangs."

So this would essentially be a brute force character with a horn and some sort of mild poison effect if he bites someone. He would be more intelligent and well spoken than most of his bestial race. Imagine Kelsey Grammer's version of Beast with white fur and you're pretty much there.

2: Talosian science officer
"Humanoids dependent upon illusion; their civilization was nearly wiped out by war thousands of centuries ago. They are only now beginning to rebuild."

A frail, intellectual character with psychic powers that prioritize illusion and mind-control trappings.

3: Nuvian spy
"According to Trip Tucker, the 200 Nuvian masseuses on Risa have 12 fingers on each hand. A female Nuvian slave was kept in Zjod's shop on the floating bazaar on the Xanthan homeworld."

A seductive and dangerous woman, in training as a spy and an assassin. The Nuvian reputation as masseuses and concubines lets her gain access to targets she would not normally be able to reach.

given the general seting and location of the campaign I would accept a mugato warrior raised on a diffrent federation planet than the one they originate from. A Talosian who joined starfleet for curiosity and exploration, A Nuvian spy would be tricky but I could figure out a way of working into the story.

My only prerequisite is somebody with the intellectual and physical ability to pass basic starfleet training and somebody who will adorn to starfleet ideals however I could work a civillian specialist who would be needed for a reason to being on the mission if I can work it in. I dont want to restict anyone but for the purose of the story everybody would start off at a reasonable cadet level.

Undecided. I like the Mugato, but it's maybe too similar to my Slipstream character. I might stick to Nuvian ex-concubine to try something fresh.
