This is a continuation game. Places are offered to existing players in the campaign first.

Candi, Dave, Ted and Vic have confirmed their desire to return.
Matt, unfortunately, will not be able to return for this rotation so another place at the table is opened up for a new player.
Adam is joining the game as a new player.
Morgan is joining the game as a new player.




Would appreciate quick word about character concept for a new player before you create a character - needs to fit the setting and campaign.

Thylea is a continent surrounded by the Forgotten Sea. The natives include centaurs, cyclopes, gygans, nymphs, satyrs and other fey races. Five centuries ago many of the new settlers arrived – predominant amongst them the humans, dwarves and elves.

Thylea is named after the mother goddess. She and her husband, Kentimane the Hundred Handed, bore children known as the Titans. The two most powerful Titans are the twins: Sydon, Lord of Storms, who dominated Thylea before the arrival of mortals and to whom sacrifices were offered daily, and his sister-wife, Lutheria, Mistress of Death, ruler of the Underworld, to whom libations are offered to this day.

The mortals worshipped the Titans until the Dragonlords came. These dragon-riders initiated the First War against the Titans to set mortals free from their tyranny. Most of the Dragonlords perished but the Titans and their armies were defeated.

In the aftermath of the First War, without the overbearing rule of the Titans, Thylea seemed lost, but then came the Five Gods. The Five forced the Titans into a five hundred year truce called the Oath of Peace. The Five walked amongst mortals: Kyrah, goddess of music; Mytros, goddess of the dawn; Pythor, god of battle; Vallus, goddess of Wisdom; and Volkan, god of the forge.

The Oath of Peace has prevented open warfare with the Titans for five hundred years. But now the truce is ending. The power of the Five wanes, and the Titans prepare to wage war on mortals again.

The Oracle, Thylea’s most celebrated prophet has had a terrible vision of what is to come. She has called for a band of mortal heroes to join together to confront the Titans.................

ROTATION ONE RECAP – THE HIGHLIGHTS

The beginning bits….


Prophecy
You met a beautiful travelling poet named Kyrah at the Sour Vintage Inn. You went on a boar hunt. Kyrah wove her tale – after 500 years, the Oath of Peace is soon to end and the titans -
Sydon and Lutheria - are preparing for war once more against the civilised races. She told of the Oracle’s prophecy of doom unless a party of heroes can thwart the titans. She told you about the Dragonlords – those who waged war against the titans centuries ago and though ultimately victorious, the Dragonlords themselves and their dragons perished. She told you about the coming of the Five (the five gods of Thylea). Kyrah set you on the path to visit the Oracle.

Kyrah’s wondrous beauty, her encapsulating charm and her almost supernatural ability to appear and reappear without you noticing, means you believe there’s more to her than meets the eye.


Destiny
At the Temple of the Oracle you met, or more accurately saved, Versi – the Oracle. She was being held captive by a witch and her temple occupied by soldiers of the Order of Sydon. Versi revealed the fate of Thylea rests in your hands. Before sailing the three seas to face the titans you must prepare. To begin, Versi tasks you with accomplishing three great labours:-

Claim the weapons of the Dragonlords
Light the fires of the Mithril Forge
Drink from the Horn of Balmytria

You are no mortal of Thylea; fallen from the heavens and deprived of your wings;
Prove your worth, be a hero, regain your wings and ascend to your birthright.
Seek out Damon, the guardian of the Necropolis at Telamok.
But have a care, for Damon is an ancient lich who suffers no fools.

Halia
It is foretold you will break the power of death,
Knowing this, Lutheria sent her agents to hunt you as a child.
The goddess Mystra erased your existence from all memory to hide you from Lutheria;
You were brought to the city of Mystra to be hidden and protected
Your parents’ souls reside in the scythe of Lutheria,
Seek out Demetria, Versi’s corrupted sister, at the Mossy Temple

Castor
Castor, child of Pythor, God of War, great things are expected of you,
Go to Estoria and reconcile yourself to the king, your father;
The Fates have much in store for you, young demi-god.


Departure
Before you leave the Temple of the Oracle, Kyrah reappears to wish you well. She talks of true heroism and urges you to swear an Oath of Fellowship to bind you together in your endeavours. She knows that the Horn of Balmytria rests in the reliquary of the Dragon Shrine in the city of Estoria – perhaps you should begin your labours there.

Versi’s priest, Proteus, approaches you before you depart. Proteus believes the tasks are impossible; even suicidal. Thylea, he says, is doomed. Nevertheless, he gifts you with a rare burnished gold coin. “To pay Damon for your (hopeful) admittance to the Necropolis. Without this, you’re dead.”
