Dear Lord he used the C word!!!

The thing about the BCRPS is it is a club like no other, the players we recruit some short term others are here forever. But we prefer a more casual gaming experience and have a laugh. I can feel the D20 being shown to me right now.

We do know people that run the games expo, could we not put notice in the guide and possibly run something under the banner of the BCRPS rather than Games Expo.

I dont think we need to take such a formal & structured approach as Tony is suggesting.

I only brought this up because we were advertising via Meetup previously and we have had new people join as a result. We are no longer represented on that website and I queried whether we feel it is worth paying to maintain that presence.

Roleplaying is more popular and visible online thanks to shows like Critical Roll and the Glass Tower podcast and I'm enthusiastic about bringing new people into the hobby while it is enjoying this renaissance.

I've managed to make contact with Gameslore and our club details should be added to their site shortly.

Doing something as a club at the expo sounds interesting. Maybe we could tie that into the Gazathon idea or do something to raise money for a charity.

Maybe that is enough for now.

Whatever definition you choose to believe, the word 'growth' is key here and the club hasn't. Whatever metrics you want to look at, can it be observed that the club has grown this year, last year, the prior year.... The clear answer is no. So why is this? Not attracting new members? Not retaining new members? Losing long term members? It's this attrition that needs evaluating.

There is no desire for any kind of formality at the club. This thread already has posts containing ideas, with no one wanting to take any responsibility. This is very typical BCRPS.

So just to re-iterate. it is the collective responsibility of the members of club, not an individual. Until someone steps up, this will always be case. Unless you are prepared to do something, please don't expect anything to change
